The Liver:
The liver is the largest organ in the human body (1.5 kg) and the most vascularized (10% of total blood volume, with 1.4 liters passing through it per minute). It is located in the upper abdomen, partially protected by the ribs, and belongs to the digestive system. It performs several vital functions for the body.

It is formed of 4 unequal lobes (right and left hepatic, caudate, and quadrate) separated into 8 segments. The gallbladder is attached to the liver at the boundary between the quadrate and right hepatic lobes. Two major vessels supply blood to the liver (the hepatic artery and the portal vein). A large number of bile ducts pass through the liver, collecting bile and leading it to the common hepatic duct, which further connects to the common bile duct.

The liver consists of millions of hepatic lobules, with a complex organization to ensure bile production and blood exchange.

The liver performs several vital functions:

  • Stores carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids
  • Regulates blood sugar levels
  • Stores vitamins (A, B, C, D, E, and K) and releases them when needed
  • Produces bile and bile acids, blood albumin, and immune proteins to defend against infections
  • Regulates lipid concentration in the blood and synthesizes and breaks down cholesterol
  • Stores iron and vitamin B12
  • Converts nitrogenous waste into urea, which is easily eliminated by the kidneys
  • Eliminates waste products produced by our metabolism
  • Plays an important role in the metabolism of sex hormones and thermoregulation
  • Detoxifies most poisons absorbed from food and some drug metabolites, converting them into non-toxic compounds

Since 1959, the massive influx of synthetic substances through intensive agriculture, industrial food production, medicalization, and environmental pollution has influenced our health. These toxic substances overload and poison the liver. Thousands of molecules synthesized by humans are not recognized by the liver, which cannot recycle them.

The liver adjusts blood volume as needed by the body: during physical activity, it releases blood to nourish the muscles; at rest, it recalls the blood, filters it, and eliminates waste. It constantly moves to ensure proper circulation of bile, blood, and lymph.

Symptoms of Liver Diseases:

Symptoms are difficult to detect, especially in the early stages of the disease. The progression of the disease depends on the individual’s predisposition and genetic constitution. Symptoms appear when the liver is irritated or inflamed, as the liver cells try to repair themselves.

The patient may experience:

  • A dull pain in the upper right side of the abdomen
  • Extreme fatigue due to changes in brain chemistry and hormone levels resulting from impaired liver function
  • Fever or chills
  • Weight and appetite loss
  • Abnormal menstruation in women
  • Swelling of the scrotum or atrophy of the testes

In the case of cirrhosis, additional symptoms include yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes, itching, yellow urine and diarrhea due to bilirubin that the liver is unable to eliminate, a tendency to bleed or bruise easily because platelet production decreases, stomach pain, and swelling of the legs, ankles, and feet due to water retention. The patient may also experience changes in personality, concentration difficulties, confusion, or memory loss.

Infusion 35 Helps With:

  • Liver drainage and stimulation
  • Liver detoxification
  • Regeneration and reactivation of liver cells
  • Facilitates bile circulation and improves liver functions
