Stomach Cancer:
Gastric cancer ranks 4th worldwide in men and 5th in women. It is the 3rd leading cause of male cancer death and 5th for females.
There is cardia cancer (gastroesophageal junction) and non-cardia cancer (distal stomach). Most gastric cancers are due to Helicobacter pylori, which produces an oncogenic protein and inhibits the p53 gene, allowing cancer cell proliferation. The bacteria are present in half of the microbiota; in 80-90% of cases, it does not cause ulcers, but its eradication may lead to irritable bowel syndrome.
Genetic modifications of the bacteria can be carcinogenic. Gene transfer occurs in biofilm bacteria (expression of 8 additional genes). Under external factors (diet), the bacteria attack the mucosa, creating ulcers that may progress to cancer.
Common symptoms:
- Epigastric pain.
- Abdominal weight loss.
- Anemia signs.
Diagnosis is often late due to deep tumor growth and lack of symptoms in small lesions.
Treatment Options:
- Endoscopic removal for small tumors without submucosal invasion.
- Surgery (curative).
- Radiotherapy, used for upper or lower gastric obstruction, bleeding, pain relief, or palliation.
- Chemotherapy post-surgery; high toxicity with 15–51% response rate and 6–10 months survival.
- Radio-chemotherapy reduces recurrence risk after surgery.
KL CA STO Benefits :
- Balances gastric acidity by modulating proton pumps without causing digestive hypergastrinemia.
- Strengthens, protects, and regenerates gastric mucosa by stimulating transdifferentiation.
- Balances the gastric microbiota.
- Stimulates cytotoxic T lymphocytes and gastric immunity to fight cancer.
- Activates the p53 anti-oncogene on chromosome 17 in gastric wall cells to induce apoptosis (which decreases by 50% in cancer) and promotes tumor autophagy.
- Activates interferon gamma-producing dendritic cells (IK DL) to isolate the tumor from its blood supply.
- Activates anti-tumor exosomes.
