Neuropsychological disorders
Neuropsychological disorder is a deficit of one or more higher mental functions in the brain: attention, short and long term memory, concentration, spatial and temporal orientation, language, reasoning, visual and auditory perceptions…
The disorder can be developmental with dysfunction of a learning process (reading, calculation, spelling, hyperactivity, communication disorders, autism spectrum disorders or attention deficit disorder…), or acquired during a head trauma, stroke or degenerative such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s.
People who suffer from psychosis have their senses affected and realities intertwined, each has a unique set of symptoms. Some experience feelings of distrust, hear voices, suffer mood swings, have no motivation for everyday tasks with a lack of concentration and an inability to plan or learn.
Mental disorders are in fact the result of a complex interaction of biological, psychological and social factors. The correlation is evident between physical health and mental health, two fundamental aspects of life that are intimately linked and closely interdependent.
Health is in fact a complete state of physical, mental and social well-being and does not consist only in the absence of disease or infirmity.
