Immunity:

Immunity is the body’s ability to resist harmful microorganisms (viruses and bacteria). It involves:

  • Non-specific components that act as barriers or eliminators of pathogens
  • Specific components that adapt to each encountered disease and produce pathogen-specific immunity

We distinguish:

  • The innate system made up of cells from the primitive bone marrow that are programmed to recognize foreign substances and fight them through physical, chemical, and cellular reactions (skin and mucous membranes – cytokines and antimicrobial substances – fever and phagocytic activity).
  • The adaptive system made up of lymphatic cells programmed to recognize substances and not react.

The immune system is complex and involves several organs, namely:

  • Bone marrow and thymus that produce lymphocytes
  • Spleen, lymph nodes, tonsils, and clusters of lymphoid cells located in the mucous membranes of the digestive, respiratory, genital, and urinary tracts.

The immune response is either non-specific or specific:

  • Non-specific: Through inflammation and interferons
  • Inflammation: Vasodilation increases capillary permeability in the affected area (the body envelope), allowing phagocytes (white blood cells) to destroy pathogens. In case of viral infection, interferons (glycoproteins) inhibit virus multiplication inside the cell.
  • Fever: Can accelerate immune reactions and slow down pathogen reproduction.
    • Specific: Through B and T lymphocytes
  • 10% of lymphocytes are B cells, which multiply upon encountering a foreign body and produce antibodies (proteins) that bind to foreign proteins, initiating destruction.
  • 80% of lymphocytes are T cells: cytotoxic T cells destroy virus-infected and tumor cells, while helper T cells regulate immunity.

The immune system retains a memory of bacteria and viruses encountered, with between 10^9 and 10^11 different proteins stored. The second encounter is always more effective and faster.

Effect of Tea 61:

  • Balances the hormonal system
  • Modulates the immune response towards equilibrium by being an immunostimulant that enhances the immune system’s capabilities in cases of immune deficiency, and an immunomodulator with selective action that allows the destruction of antibodies preventing tumor cell destruction by cytotoxic T lymphocytes.
  • Reactivates the immune system to fight tumor cells more effectively.
  • Stimulates the production of antibodies to fight bacteria, virus-infected cells, or any other environmental toxins.
  • Eliminates free radicals that inhibit the action of anti-inflammatory cell enzymes.
  • Relieves chronic inflammation by stimulating genes responsible for anti-inflammation and inhibiting inflammatory mediators, which, though essential for survival, become a major risk factor for several diseases when activated chronically.
  • Balances the action of cytokines (chemokines and interferons) to control histamine levels and the required sensitivity for each cell.
